Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and Chairman of the Board of the Tourism Development and Investment Company inaugurated on Tuesday evening the “100 artistic pieces that speak the history of the world” exhibition, organised by the Authority in collaboration with the British Museum. The exhibition will continue till the beginning of August.

The opening of the exhibition which was held at “Manarat Al Saadiyat” in Abu Dhabi was witnessed by Mubarak Al Muhairi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture, Jasem Al Darmaki, deputy director general and board member of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture and Zaki Nusseibeh, cultural advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs and a number of of people from the media.

Global event

Salama Al Shamsi the manager of the Zayed National Museum stressed in a statement that the exhibition is a distinguished global event which includes a variety of historical pieces which allows visitors to learn more about the history of human civilisations. She also pointed out that the event focuses on highlighting the cultural significance of the UAE and the Arab world in shaping human history.

Al Shamsi also praised the role of the Authority in organising exhibitions that tell the march of humanity during certain periods of time or highlight global events hosted or organised in Abu Dhabi.

She also noted that the exhibition is the third in a series organised as a prelude to the opening of the “Zayed National Museum” in the Cultural District of Saadiyat in 2016.
